After losing all of her limbs in a battle with bacterial meningitis and becoming a quadruple amputee, Karen Crespo experienced yet another blow a year later when $100,000 worth of advanced prosthetic limbs were delivered and then stolen off of her doorstep. Then she saw Carrie Hammer's Role Models Not Runway Models show featuring the first ever model on a runway in a wheelchair. She reached out to Carrie letting her know how the show inspired her and made her feel beautiful for the first time in years.
