Change: Episode 2 THE NATURE OF WATER In this episode we investigate the importance of water and what is happening to this finite and precious resource. The thorny issue of bottled water and our mistreatment of this beautiful substance is explored. We ask Deon Roussow from Cape Nature to give us his opinion on the matter of water use and how poor water management by the City of Cape Town is causing the loss of massive amounts of water. Various other members of the Capetonian community all give their opinion on this matter which is so central to our very existence. We travel with underprivileged and neglected children who have been given the opportunity to get out into nature and learn about the importance of water conservation with the the Rondevlei children's Environmental Education Initiative. Water is an essential resource to sustain life. As governments and community organizations prioritize the delivery of adequate supplies of quality water to people, individuals can help by learning how to conserve the resource in their daily lives. “Water is life's mater and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.” Albert Szent-Gyorgyi (Hungarian Biochemist, 1937 Nobel Prize for Medicine, 1893-1986) For more info go to www.changetv.co.za or www.africanrenaissance.co.za
