I have a soft spot for bands that wear all black. What can I say? I like black. So the Echo Park ensemble, Black Flamingo, immediately struck a positive nerve. And when they told us their genre was “tropical goth,” it was on. We decided to go all out… kiddie pool, pineapples, pink flamingos doused in paint, and hot dogs… the basics, you know, for tropical goth. The band consumed it all, while rocking it out. A definite highlight: Megan, their self-proclaimed “video ho” – I must say, she wore the moniker with pride, and our vodka supply took note.
