HOMEWRECKA Starring Laura Killeen, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9oaOHiKFoI http://janepublic.bandcamp.com/album/homewrecka The film was written and created by a Smith Corona typewriter and photographed on 35mm slide transparency film paper. Film and published short story is narrated by actress/performance artist Laura Killeen. REVIEW: Film artist and short story writer Joey Huertas' (aka Jane Public) clever plotting makes this short story, and literary film, engaging. The beautiful femme fatale he has created here leaves very little to be desired. We hear this woman's interpreted dual persona (Claire and Lynda) and understand that she's bad for her own bad's sake from the narrator who very well may be the manipulating protagonist herself. We listen to her described antics and rages and are at once thrilled and threatened in a freeing kind of a way. But Huertas' anti-heroine is not all calculated motivation and is very consumed with just simply 'being.' That is what makes her, and her love affair, so terrifying! She's bad because she's angry and because that is just how she is. And you can never hold a candle, or a flicker-flame of a gold-plated lighter, to being bad because it feels so damn good.
