We have played with as many as 8 players (4 couples) but is does play in about 2 hours. The average play time depending on how many players is 1 to 1 1/2 hours. The object of the game is to complete 3 laps around the track which ends the game and the winner gets the $10,000.00 first place purse money. You can try and navigate through the tricky short cuts or take the safer long way around. As you roll the dice and move around the board you land on Pay Off or Cash which are good cards and give you money. The Dilemma and Breakdown cards are bad and you have to pay money. If you are unlucky and run our of money you can borrow more money from the Bank $5,000.00 at a time and you get a bank note so you don't forget to pay it back to the Bank. The object of the game is to create the most net worth and when someone crosses the finish line for the 3rd time, everyone counts their money and the player with the most money wins the game. It does help to get around the track as you get $5,000.00 for each lap you complete and the $10,000.00 purse for finishing first does help a lot to win the game.
