Greetings. . .Family and Friends and welcome to our annual Family Reunion Picnic at the Westinghouse Lodge on July 12, 2013 in Forest Hills, PA. We had lots of good food as usual, prepared by my Uncle Charles Kelly and Aunt Helen Bush. But a special shout out goes to Uncle Timmy's baby back ribs that he marinates for two days in his special season. Uncle Timmy ribs are so yummy and finger licking good, that you can eat his ribs without barbecue sauce. Honorable mention goes to my Mom aka "Nana" the best Mom and grandmother ever! (Eula Turner) Thank you Mom for making the best deviled-egg and your special homemade "Slush" cocktail, which should be outlawed on the east coast! We all know back in the day, it was called Moonshine! With that said, I selected two songs for this video which is dedicated to my Mom and Aunt Helen. The opening song is sung by The Fifth Dimension "Stone Soul Picnic" is dedicated to my mom. The second song "Happiness" sung by Al Jarreau with David Beniot is dedicated to my Aunt Helen. Aunt Helen is June Cleaver, Donna Reed and Claire Huxtable, wrapped up in one person. When someone looks up the word HOME in the dictionary, her name should be listed as the description. She is hearth, home and heart to everyone that knows her. I love so much, because she makes every holiday so special for us. I have spent my entire life with these family members. My cousin Patty was everybody's babysitter in the family. Kevin and I took baths together as babies. My parents still have their 60s-70s Martini Cart that Rock Hudson and Tony Randall used to get Doris Day drunk in the movies. And my mother still has her Singer Sewing Machine from the 70's that she used to make my Halloween costumes and curtains for the kitchen when we lived at 402 Mount Pleasant Road. Our families have shared a lifetime of love, laughter, tears, births and deaths together. Regardless of how we all came together in life, we were always meant to be a Family.
