DRC sends more troops to frontline as they capture prisoners of war

The Congolese army sends more troops to Goma, and area previously occupied by M23 rebels.

Columns of troops are seen carrying weapons to the front-line as they pursue the fleeing rebels.

The M23 rebels said they quit the hill fronts of Goma to allow an independent investigation into a shelling that has killed civilians in Goma and in neighboring Rwanda.

Congolese officials paraded prisoners of war captured during the fighting.

Three of them were said to be from Rwanda, including two child soldiers.

(SOUNDBITE) (Kiswahili) CONGOLESE MILITARY SPOKESMAN, COLONEL OLIVIER AMULI, SAYING:

"Some of these prisoners of war are children and they were used as child soldiers. Apart from being child soldiers, they are foreigners but they are protected by international laws that defines how prisoners of war are supposed to be treated. We plan to hold talks with the concerned country where they come from and see the way forward for them."

Both Congo's army and
