Fishing fail: A Brazilian woman survived a speargun accident after her husband shot her in the mouth with a harpoon, Brazilian health officials said Wednesday. Elisangela Rosa, a 28-year-old woman living in the coastal city of Arraial do Cabo, nearly died after her husband accidentally shot her with his speargun. Her husband was cleaning his speargun when it went off, sending a harpoon straight through her mouth and into her cervical spine. The harpoon came within a centimeter of killing Rosa, according to an official statement by neurosurgeon Allan da Costa. The harpoon reportedly pierced her pharynx, broke two molars and hit the top vertebra in her neck.
