$5,000 diamond in champagne swallowed by Florida woman

An 80-year-old Florida woman accidentally swallowed a diamond worth $5,000 from a champagne flute during a women's-only event.

The incident occurred as 400 women were served champagne flutes that each included a cubic zironia, but not one. The woman took a mouthful from her glass and in went the one valuable diamond served that night.

Staff of Continental Wholesale Diamond along with organizers of the Tampa Woman's Club event went table to table searching for the diamond, but it was indeed the thirsty old lady who consumed her prize.

She was shuffled to a local hospital where she underwent a colonoscopy. Her doctor told her to look out the next time she needed to use the bathroom for something she just may want to hang on to.
