Thai opposition protesters have stepped up their rallies, gathering in thousands in seven major intersections in the capital. Demonstrators want Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to step down to make way for an appointed government that would oversee electoral reforms. Authorities say they are ready to declare a state of emergency if there is fresh unrest, and roughly 20,000 police and soldiers will be deployed for security. Al Jazeera's Scott Heidler reports from Bangkok.
