Ivory smuggling operation foiled in Togo

Authorities in Togo have seized four tonnes of ivory they say was destined for Vietnam, making three arrests.

It is thought more than 500 elephants were killed.

Despite an international ban, the illegal ivory trade is estimated to be worth billions of euros.

The UN has warned that it is become an important source of funding for armed groups in Central Africa.
