Two Japanese construction workers killed in accident

Two Japanese construction workers were killed by a falling steel sheet at a car park construction site in Nishi-Azabu Tokyo on Wednesday.

The accident took place at a 24-story condominium construction site. The two victims were working in the basement working on a mechanical car parking system. Another construction worker accidentally activated the parking system. A steel sheet weighing 800kgs then fell from 6 meters up crushing the two workers. The pair were immediately taken to the hospital where they were confirmed dead. Police are treating the case as manslaughter and are looking into the cause of the accident.
