Security footage from a Connecticut furniture store shows a man sucker punching a pedestrian as part of a punching spree in Cambridge over the weekend.
The video, captured on Saturday, shows a couple walking down the sidewalk, when suddenly a tall man in his 20s approaches them from behind, and in broad daylight winds up and clocks the man in the side of his head, knocking him onto the ground.
The store's owner told local media he was able to help the injured man, but the suspect remains at large.
"We ran out to help (the man), brought him inside. This guy had a bruised ear and cheekbone. He was going ballistic," Anthony Goodh, owner of BoConcept told WBZ-TV.
The attack was one of three carried out by the same man along Massachusetts Avenue that afternoon.
Despite the similarities, police do not believe the attack to be the latest example of the so-called "knockout game".
"We believe at this point, that these assaults were not a case of 'Knockout', but a situation where an individual who was either under the influence or suffering from some type of mental illness was responsible for the assaults," Cambridge Police Deputy Superintendent Jack Albert told WBZ.
