Look, my love is open
and flows with abandon
like a river
brimful with dreams,
but my desire has missed
the soul of love
because it made you
the sole image
from its heart
for it to worship.
It is no longer sure
that it still grasps
what once it was
that held it captive
and made it go crazy.
Now its only cry is,
leave my life
leave my life
that someone more loving
may come in.
In this decade
of my age,
no time is left
to hunt for shadows.
I'll let you go
to live your life
where your heart is.
You've made it hell enough
to be with you,
injecting poisonous doubts
into my cup of love.
Would that my doubt
had been the place
that waited for your love,
which never came.
