Gert Strydom - When the sun kisses the hillocks

Late in the afternoon when the sun kisses the hillocks
a deep red colour appear in the west
when nature, man comes to the evenings rest,
while I hear guinea fowls screaming from the bush,
there is a kind of silence that comes suddenly,
when man is saying his prayers, is going to God
when some are busy with deeds of love,
with the essence of living and of life
and others still pursue further fame and wealth.
