Football player Hope Solo was called before Kirkland Municipal Court in Washington where she pleaded not guilty to charges of domestic violence on Monday.

Solo was arrested at a house in Seattle on Saturday after allegedly assaulting both her sister and 17-year old nephew.

The 32-year-old goalie for the Seattle Reign FC and a former Olympian was reportedly "intoxicated and upset", and would not leave the house or stop hitting people, according to police officers.

After entering a plea of not guilty, the athlete was released without bail, and ordered not to have contact with her sister or nephew. Her next court appearance will be on August 11.
