“This Is Where I Leave You” is an American comedy-drama directed by Shawn Levy. It is based on the book of the same name by Jonathan Tropper, who also wrote the film’s screenplay.

When their father passes away, four grown siblings are forced to fulfill their dad’s last wish, to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-sharing mother and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens.

The cast including, Tina Fey, Jane Fonda and Jason Bateman graced the red carpet for the film’s Hollywood premiere.

Fonda plays the matriarch, Hilary Altman. She said: “It was an honour, frankly. They’re all so talented and it’s a new generation of comedians that I learned a lot from them; the improv, constant new ideas coming out of their heads and their mouths, and it was really awe-inspiring to watch them work.”

Tina Fey, best known for her comedic skills, spoke about her admiration for Fonda.

She said:“It was awesome, you know, she really was just one of the ensemble. You know, you realise that people, even though they’re icons and they’ve won two Oscars, they just want to do good work and they want to do the task at hand and I think that’s one thing I respect about her so much, she really is about doing a good job, it’s not about, like, check me out, I’m a giant, giant, giant star.”

“This is Where I Leave You” hits UK theatres on October 24.
