In September 2014 What's On (http://www.whatson.is) travelled to the eruption site at Holuhraun, north of Bardarbunga in the middle of Iceland with the purpose of getting amazing footage and writing about the experience.
This video includes footage from air, shot during a scenic flight a few days before driving to the roots of the eruption.
This is an unsafe area, inaccessible to the general public and we took every precaution necessary, travelled with seasoned experts and had appropriate permits for everything.
