I lay in bed, peacefully,
Deep in the realm of dreams,
My love laid at my side.
Even on this bitter night,
I still feel warm, next to her,
She is the love of my life.
Then, slowly, i begin to rise,
From the dream realm,
And back into reality,
Senses slowly returning one by one...
Sound. All is silent,
Ahhhh she must be tired,
After all it was a long day.
Touch. I gently stroke her arm,
To let her know i am close,
But she does not respond,
Poor thing, she is tired out.
Smell. An acrid smell hits me now,
So bittersweet, pungent and evil,
Like the idea one has of Hell.
Taste. The same smell now attacks my tastebuds.
Bitter, metallic, sharp, acidic taste,
Almost like...
Sight. The moonlight pierces through the blinds.
BLOOD! ! ! OH MY GOD! ! !
What the hell happened here?
My love, stabbed to death through the heart,
And her face, mutilated beyond recognition,
Almost as if someone or something had...
I try to regain my composure,
Head for the bathroom,
Head for the sink, cold water, calm me down...
SHIT! ! !
A knife sits in bloodied water, floating,
Gleaming at me, grinning.
The blood is plastered onto the sides of the sink.
Oh God, this cant be happening...
Not again...
I thought we'd got rid of them after 'last time...'
Five years! They'd left us alone for five years!
But now, it seems, they weren't happy,
They wanted revenge.
My demons...
