There’s been no word on who the person is or what moniker they plan to bestow upon the newborn, but it has been confirmed that the winner was not a corporation.

The opportunity was auctioned off at the ‘Zoo to Do’ charity event and the bidding for it opened at 25 thousand dollars.

Proceeds from the winning offer will be spent on conservation initiatives in Africa.

Dallas’s not so little guy was born in late October, and emerged from the womb weighing around 120 pounds and standing nearly 6-feet tall.

Both he and his mother Chrystal appear to be doing OK now, but the birth itself wasn’t without problems.

Special accommodations were needed as the calf was in an awkward position when he began to emerge.

Since then, the baby has been nursing normally, but zoo experts are keeping close watch to ensure he continues to progress at the normal rate of development.

As for his name, an announcement is expected soon.
