Jen Nettles - Mirrors

2014-11-08 5 Dailymotion

She has a room full of mirrors
Of all different shapes and sizes.
Square ones and small ones,
All glittering with surprises.

This one shows her Round,
And that one makes her Tall,
Another shows her Skinny,
While that one makes her Small.

She likes the one that makes her pretty,
But she knows its just her face,
And she hates the one that makes her squiggly,
Yet she lines the edges with lace.

There are no walls or doors in her room,
Its only padded in glass.
Each one with a different face
Reflecting back in one large mass.

But in a corner dark and bare
Sits a mirror away from the images of the day
It's wrapped in dust and years long dead,
All alone, it's tucked away.

And she doesn't use him anymore,
She dreads his glassy Cyclops stare
Because she knows that when she looks inside
She'll discover no one's there.
