Laura Flanders Show with Chris Hedges

There’s not many journalists out there who can investigate a story and also fight like a great polemicist. And there’s even less that will explore both the effects of US foreign policy around the world, and our economic policy at home. Chris Hedges does that and more. He's a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist and a senior fellow at the Nation Institute. He spent nearly two decades as a foreign correspondent in more than 50 countries, including 15 years as a foreign correspondent for the New York Times. The most recent of his dozen books is Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt. Hedges discusses the importance of resistance to empire, and passionately condemns US foreign policy, saying "There is no difference between a beheading by ISIL and a US drone strike." This episode also features a report about a new collective organizing space in New York City, and Laura discusses economic human rights as we approach December 10, International Human Rights Day.
