I am very fortunate that I am not poor...however it doesn't mean I can't laugh at a poor joke. It might be in bad taste to tell a poor joke if you aren't poor, so I most likely won't tell poor jokes considering I have always been decent. For example, I really would think it would be messed up if Mitt Romney told poor jokes to people, considering he's not poor...but I would find it funny that in an ironic twist he became bankrupt. I don't wish bankrupt-ness on anyone, but if you deserve it, well, you deserve it. I find that poor people can tell jokes poor people can laugh at, and I find jokes poor people to be pretty funny which is the case of Chinedu Unaka telling us stories of his father. He was not joke poor, Chinudu Unaka's father was poor poor. The difference between joke poor and real poor, is essentially the difference between Chinedu and his father. It's in bad taste to tell jokes about poor people if you aren't poor yourself...however there are loopholes, as you can tell jokes about poor people if you were once poor and hit the lottery, or married Oprah. You already know the experiences of being poor, and most likely you never want to go back to it. Well, I would tell poor people jokes right now, but it's in bad taste for me to do it, so I would leave Chinedu to tell the poor people jokes that his father has passed down to him instead...plus they are probably better than anything I could have come up with.
