An online fundraising campaign has gathered a life-changing sum of money for a kindhearted homeless man named Thomas.
He was first introduced to the online universe in a video made by Josh Paler Lin.
Lin’s original intention was to see how the man, whom he’d picked at random, would spend a 100-dollar donation. So, with the cameras rolling he handed Thomas the money and proceeded to follow him.
He was quite shocked when the money was used to buy food for others in need.
When Lin saw Thomas handing out meals to complete strangers, he approached him and interviewed him on camera.
Thomas revealed that he’d only recently begun living on the streets.
Prior to that he’d left his job to care for his aging and ill parents.
He was living with them at the time, but when they passed away their condo was quickly sold to cover outstanding bills.
Tomas suddenly found himself without a place to call home.
Upon the viewing public’s urgings, Lin set up an Indiegogo fundraising page, featuring Thomas’ story and a goal of 10 thousand dollars.
Within days, the donations total reached the 6-figure mark.
