Gir-Somnath: Gujarat's lion census will cover all of Saurashtra, barring Surendranagar, will be carried out over five days beginning on May 2. The last census was conducted in April 2010. The census is conducted every five years. Officials said all eyes are on the census as this year the department will be covering an area covering Bhavnagar-Jamnagar-Porbandar, Rajkot to a wide coastal region. This is the first census that will cover over 25,000 sq km, all across Saurashtra.
