Republicans seek permanent end to Obama’s immigration program

After a federal judge suspended President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration, the Republican Party is trying to put a permanent end to the President’s program. Obama’s action last November sought to protect millions from the immediate threat of deportation. Republicans are now threatening to cut funding for the Department of Homeland Security, which includes the agency that would implement the program, a measure some few as far too drastic.
