Saint Lucia, Petrocaribe and ALBA stand behind Venezuela

Saint Lucia's Ambassador to the Caribbean oil alliance Petrocaribe and the Bolivian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA), Eustace Vitalis, stated on Friday that President Barack Obama's recent declaration of Venezuela as a national security threat constitutes an unprecedented aggression. He commented that both Petrocaribe and ALBA have pledged support for the democratically elected government of Venezuela. At the same time, the Venezuelan Ambassador to Saint Lucia, Leiff Escalona, said that President Obama's accusation is just the latest in a series of acts against the country.
