Crazed Islamist motorist drives into pedestrians and yells Allahu Akbar in Dijon, France, injures 11

Eleven people were injured on Sunday in the French city of Dijon when a driver plowed his car into several groups of pedestrians.

The incident was the second in two days involving assailants shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’, or God is Great, in Arabic.

Reports said that a car targeted pedestrians at five different locations around the city on Sunday evening. Witnesses said the driver was shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ during the attack.

The driver managed to injure a total of 11 people, two of them seriously, before he was arrested. The motive for the attack is still unclear.

It comes a day after a similar attack in the central town of Joue-les-Tours.

In Saturday’s incident, a Muslim convert also reportedly shouting ‘Allahu Akbar,’ attacked three police officers with a knife inside a police station before he was shot dead.

Two of the officers were seriously injured, although none of the injuries were reportedly life-threatening. Officials said anti-terrorism investigators have begun a probe into the first attack.
