As the Hong Kong democracy protests enter their third week, Beijing and its puppet leader in Hong Kong CY Leung are starting to sound like a broken record.
The Communist Party and CY come from the old Chinese school of if you repeat lies long enough, then one day they become true.
Take, for example, their line that foreign governments — namely the United States — are behind the protests, which the U.S. has categorically denied.
In an interview with foreign media on Monday, Leung said open elections in Hong Kong would be a bad idea because poor people would get to vote.
Leung explained that letting poor Hong Kongers vote would create a welfare state. The Beijing-appointed leader advocated letting the rich tycoons, who are in bed with the Communists, make all the decisions instead.
The problem for Beijing and Leung is that the Umbrella Revolution isn’t just a bunch of poor people, it includes citizens from all walks of life.
