Honduran Campesinos Protest Repression, Demand Agrarian Reform

2015-04-22 2 Dailymotion

Honduran campesino organizations are in the streets protesting government repression and demanding the adoption of an agrarian reform that has been on hold for the past year. About 5,000 peasant farmers face legal proceedings, 700 of them women, and 16 leaders are in prison without a trial. About 60% of the population work in agriculture and 70% of the sector's production corresponds to small producers who do not own their own land. Gerardo Torres reports from Tegucigalpa. teleSUR
