Russian President Vladimir Putin joined commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the end of the Siege of Leningrad on January 27, 2014. Putin placed flowers at the Border Stone monument in the Nevsky Pyatachok Memorial Complex before visiting an exhibition on the siege at the Breaking Through the Siege of Leningrad Museum, located in the city of Kirovsk.
