Prosecutors said on Monday that 800 rounds of ammunition, a machete and two hatchets were found in the vehicle of White House intruder Omar Gonzalez’s car.
It was also revealed that 42-year-old Omar Gonzalez was previously arrested in July for reckless driving and, evading Virginia state police while in possession of an illegal sawn-off shotgun, two sniper rifles, four handguns and a map of Washington with a line drawn pointing to the White House, according to Fox News.
In August, Gonzalez was stopped while walking near the south fence of the White house with a hatchet in his waistband. He was later released after authorities searched his car and failed to find any other weapons, Reuters reported.
An internal review of the intruder incident has been launched. The Secret Service is looking into the possibility of expanding the security zone around the White House and conducting more screening of people in the area, according to Reuters.
