The career of Tito Nieves began in 1975 with Orquesta Cimarron. When the singer Rafael de Jesus left Cimarron, Tito Nieves became the lead singer and stayed with them for two years. Between 1977 and 1978, Tito Nieves joined the orchestra of one of his idols, Hector Lavoe, he greatly influenced the career of Nevis. Sharing beside one of the most important voices of salsa, Tito Nieves had the opportunity to learn valuable lessons that will be useful later in his solo career.
