Humberto "Tito" Nieves (Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, June 4, 1958) is a Puerto Rican salsa singer. Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico and raised in the US. UU., Tito Nieves began his career while participating in Orquesta Cimarron was a band from New York. In 1977, he teamed up with singer Hector Lavoe and his Orchestra and joined Conjunto Clasico. Then Nieves decided to start his solo career in 1987, besides singing salsa in English. He is known for hits like Love More Beautiful, Sleepwalker, and hit sauce in English, I Like It Like That. In 1988 he was presented with the opportunity to record for the RMM label. His first major success for the company was the song "Sleepwalker", a composition of Leo Casino, appearing in his first album for RMM titled "The Classic" which reached gold record. Tito Nieves with this album definitely imposed its interpretive style, rushing to conquer international markets, leading the way for other artists who later formed the nucleus of what is known as "The Sound of New York", championed by RMM. "I want sing ", the second album for RMM in 1989, brought a pleasant surprise. The song in English "I'll Always Love You", taken to salsa style, becomes a success in the English-speaking radio stations. His fourth recording was released in June 1993 under the title "Puzzle (The Puzzle)". Inspired by the success of their songs in English, Tito decided to include two songs in this language "Can You Stop The Rain" and "You Bring Me Joy". In 1995 he was released his fifth album, "A common type", which was produced in Puerto Rico by Cuto Soto and was arranged by Ramon Sanchez, Julito Alvarado, Louis Garcia and the same Cuto. Production included the song "No love me again" by Mexican singer Juan Gabriel and arranged by Sergio George. Another surprise was the album version of the classic theme Tito Selena "I have no choice." Tito Nieves definitely had a strong impact on the British market with its sixth production recorded all in English "I Like It Like That".
