Chile: Teachers Strike Demands Better Working Conditions

Chilean teachers began a nationwide strike Sunday to demand better working conditions. They have called on the Education Ministry to begin talks to resolve the dispute. The country's largest teachers union is opposed to a bill currently in Congress that would extend the amount of time educators spend in non-classroom activities such as meetings and planning sessions and would downwardly adjust salaries. teleSUR
