Novak Djokovic totally flipped his lid during his fourth round match against Kevin Anderson at Wimbledon on Tuesday when he yelled at a ball girl for not giving him a towel fast enough.
It took Joker two days and five sets to beat big-serving South African Kevin Anderson. The match was stopped on Monday after bad light forced them off court tied 2-2. Then the reigning Wimbledon champ struggled to find his rhythm when the match resumed Tuesday after a rain delay.
Tennis players need their balls and they need their towels, so it’s understandable why the Serb lost his cool when he yelled at a ball girl in the sixth game of the final set when she didn’t give him a towel fast enough.
The ball girl was reportedly left “visibly shaken” and crying, according to sources that told the Daily Mail. The poor girl was seen trying to play it off by drinking some water.
After the match, Djokovic said he would apologize to the girl. “I’m sorry. There was nothing towards her. Maybe she was just afraid of my screaming there,” he said.
“I was pretty close to her. I’m definitely going to try to apologize to her if I did something wrong.”
