Masked students burnt cars and attacked a police station in Chilpancingo, in Guerrero state on Saturday. Local media reported that protesters temporarily detained and disarmed four municipal police officers.
The activists were from the same teachers training college which saw the kidnapping and murder of 43 students in September 2014. They were reportedly on their way to a demonstration in solidarity with the victims, which was to be held in Zumpango, north of Mexico city, when the incident occurred.
