The GAU 8 cannon is over 35 years old but can still shred any armour Russia can come up with. Being the main weapon of the A-10 thunderbolt, it has a well proven record of killing tanks and armour in combat. When equipped with Depleted Uranium rounds there is no land vehicle armour that can stop it. In other words Russia's new Armata tank is just a sitting duck.
