Opozita kundërshtoi me force projektligjin qe shkrin Sherbimin Informativ Kombetar dhe e zëvendëson ate me Agjensine e Inteligjences se Mbrojtjes. Socialisti Arben Isaraj theksoi se Sherbimet Inteligjente ne Shqipëri mbeten jashte kontrollit parlamentar, edhe me kete ligj. Ndersa Taulant Balla tha se qeveria kerkon te mbuloje apo te fshehe përgjimet e paligjshme te opozites dhe ambasadave te huaja, por edhe armatosjen e paligjshme te agjenteve te SHIU-t. Shërbimi Informativ i Ushtrisë u vu ne qendër te akuzave te opozitës disa muaj me pare, nen dyshimet e forta se kjo agjenci u përdor per te përgjuar krerët e opozitës, gjate protestave te 21 janarit 2011, ne menyre antiligjore. Ish-kreu i ketij shërbimi dha dorëheqjen pas publikimit ne media te disa fakteve, qe e lidhnin me afera dhe favorizime. Ndërkohë, socialistet kane kërkuar ngritjen e nje Komisioni Hetimor Parlamentar per kontrollin e ministrisë se Mbrojtjes, por ky komision ende nuk është mandatuar.
