Violent clashes erupted between pro-Kurdish protesters and police in Istanbul's Gazi district. The demonstrators took to the street in support of the victims of recent clashes between Turkish security forces and members of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) in eastern Turkey. Protesters launched fireworks and Molotov Cocktails at police who retaliated with tear gas and water cannons.
