Chilean League Game Abandoned After Fans Fight on Pitch

A violent pitch invasion from fans forced officials to abandon the Chilean Primera Division football match between Colo Colo and the Santiago Wanderers. Brutal crowd violence ahead of the clash forced the match to be suspended and eventually cancelled by the referee as opposing fans fought with anything they could get their hands on. From flares and smoke grenades to sticks, wooden planks, rocks, metal poles and even the corner flag. Outside the stadium was also a terrifying scene. Rocks were thrown at cars for no particular reason, and fights broke out in the streets.
