Fresh forest fire breaks out in Uttarakhand, JK

Uttarakhand/Jammu and Kashmir, May 18 (ANI): Fires continues to rage in forests of Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand on Wednesday. The forests of Trikuta hills nearby the Vaishno Devi shrine were gutted putting the tourists at risk. Meanwhile, forest fires also broke out in the Srinagar and Uttarkashi regions of Uttarakhand. Indian Airforce helicopters were pressed into service to douse off the flames in Jammu and Kashmir. Rising temperatures and prolonged dry spells make forests more vulnerable of catching fire.
