Number of movies are produced every year in Bollywood. Apart from all the hits and flops, there are other movies which are deliberately kept out of audience reach by the Censor Board. These movies have strong bold language, vulgar scenes or those which may hurt religious sentiments. Let’s take a look at such movies which were banned by the Censor Board of India. Kamasutra was halted by the Censors as it was considered ‘too explicit’ and ‘immoral. Water was a movie on the lives of widows in India and was banned by the Censors. Gandu is a black and white Bengali ‘rap musical’ that was banned for its sex scenes and use of drugs. Firaaq was a movie on the Gujarat riots and the Hindu-Muslim communal hatred. This movie was also banned. Fire showed a lesbian relationship between two sisters-in-laws. And this was just too much for the Censor Board to handle. Sins movie was on a Catholic priest who got sexually involved with a woman. With this the Censor Board had got offended, and also the Catholics protested against this movie. Unfreedom shows lesbian relationship and Islamic terrorism. This movie also came under the Censor Board scanner. So what do you think, such types of movies must be banned?.
