A shocking video of a man beating his wife in public has gone viral in China after the couple¿s daughter was captured on camera witnessing the entire violent ordeal.

Shocking footage shows the moment a man brutally beats a woman in the middle of a busy street in front of a crying little girl.

The man, who is reported to be the woman's husband, accused her of cheating on him, the People's Daily Online reports. The child is believed to be the couple's daughter.
The incident is thought to have taken place in Chengdu, south-west China's Sichuan Province, on April 22.
According to reports, the 45-second clip was first uploaded to Chinese social media Weibo by user 'Qing qing he bian cao' on April 23.

It was quickly shared by many Chinese media on Weibo, including 'Chengdu Live', which wrote in a post alongside the video: 'Last night, in Chengdu Taikoo Li, a man attacked his wife, their young daughter was scared and sobbing next to them.'
It went on saying: 'It's understood that the man suspected his wife had kept a lover.'
In the footage, the man can be seen pushing his wife to the floor and dropping her phone.

The young girl then goes to pick it up.

A passerby intervenes and tells the man to stop being violent towards the woman. He then starts shouting at the passerby.
Two more passersby tell him to stop.
The man then violently throws the woman towards the floor and the daughter starts crying.
The original passerby then goes towards the child and comforts her while her mother gets up from the floor before leading the girl away into the road.
The man then chases them into the road and grabs the woman by the hair and pulls her to the floor while the daughter continues to cry.

Even more passersby run over to try and help the pair.

The video has been shared online and people have had mixed opinions on the attack.

On Weibo, one user wrote: 'How can he beat her like this with only the suspicion of [being unfaithful]? What if it turns out to be a misunderstanding? The woman should divorce the man directly.'
While another wrote: 'I want to praise those passers-by especially the first lady who intervened.'
One internet user wrote: 'This kind of woman should be beaten. As a man, I support you. But don't do it in front of the child. It won't be good for her future.'
