The project, titled MavaRoz, has brought musicians from different countries, and different disciplines together.
In the year 2013, Güldeniz Akpolat shares her sentimental, passionate, rebellious, daring, political and sexy songs upon which there is the touch of a woman and which she has been writing for years, with Roberto Talin. The band, which was founded in the form of Guitar-Vocal, releases its first Ep “Afişte Hayatlar” digitally on July 2014.
With the song, named Don-Sütyen, the lyrics, mentioning the difficulties of being a woman ironically, draw attention.
Towards the end of the year 2014, Maya Felixbrodt (viola) and Vasilis Kyvranoglu (cajon) take their place in the band.
With participation of Italian, Israeli, Greek musicians, a unique sound, which takes its source from Anatolia, Mediterranean and Middle East, and which may be classified as ethnic, rock, bossa nova, alternative, pop and folk in part, is obtained.
Following a year full of recordings and concerts, MavaRoz releases its debut album “Kırık Ayna” on July 2015. The band, giving concerts in Greece and Israel, takes to the stage at various venues in Istanbul as well and releases its first video, shot by Yals Kim, the Korean director, on December 2015.
The name MavaRoz signifies joy and sorrow with a root from the Greek word Mavros (black) and Hebrew word Mava (pleasant), yin yang balance, the souls of the women given place in the lyrics, the names of the members of the band, and activism, equality, and significance of humanistic values with an inspiration from the name of an organization, established against woman violence.
The project, which shows diversity in terms of the members of the band, continues to present its songs in different tastes with participation of Erkan Üstünol (percussion) and Stefanos Chamalidis (trumpet).

MavaRoz projesi farklı ülkeden, farklı disiplenlerden gelen müzisyenleri bir araya getirdi.

2013 yılında Güldeniz Akpolat, uzun yıllardır yazdığı kadın eli değmiş duygulu, tutkulu, asi, cüretkar, politik ve seksi şarkılarını, Roberto Talin ile paylaşır. Gitar-Vokal olarak kurulan grup 5 şarkılık ilk Ep’si “Afişte Hayatlar”ı 2014 Temmuz ayında dijital olarak yayınlar.
Don-Sütyen şarkısında kadın olmanın zorluklarını mizahi şekilde anlatan şarkı sözleri dikkat çeker.
2014 sonlarında gruba Maya Felixbrodt (viola) ve Vasilis Kyvranoglu (kahon) katılır.
İtalyan, İsrailli, Yunan, Türk müzisyenlerin katılımıyla, Anadolu'dan, Akdeniz'den, Orta Doğu'dan beslenen biraz etnik, biraz rock, biraz bossa nova, biraz alternatif, biraz pop, biraz folk kendi tadında bir sound ortaya çıkar.
Kayıtlar ve konserlerle geçen bir yılın ardından MavaRoz ilk albümü “Kırık Ayna”yı Temmuz
2015’te yayınlar. Yunanistan ve İsrail’de konserler veren grup İstanbul’da birçok mekanda sahne alır ve Koreli yönetmen Yals Kim tarafından çekilen ilk klibini 2015 Aralık ayında yayınlar.
MavaRoz isminde ;
Yunanca Mavros ( siyah), İbranice Mava (hoş) kelimelerinden gelen neşeyi ve hüznü, yin yang dengesini, sözlerdeki kadınların ruhlarını, grup üyelerinin isimlerini, kadın şiddetine karşı kurulan bir organizasyonun isminden esinlenerek; aktivistliği, eşitliği, insancıl değerlerin önemini barındırır.
Grup üyeleri açısından çeşitlik gösteren proje, Erkan Üstünol (Perküsyon),Stefanos Chamalidis’in (Trompet) katılımıyla şarkılarını farklı tatlarda sunmaya devam etmektedir.
