An 18-year-old student named Abdul Razak Ali Artan is alleged to have used both a car and a knife to levy an attack at the Ohio State University campus on Monday, reports USA Today.
The incident left 11 people injured, and Artan was fatally shot by the campus police.
ISIS came forward on Tuesday, claiming it was behind the violence, notes the New York Daily News.
The group also identified the suspect as one of its "soldiers."
According to RT, it is unknown at this time if Artan was actually affiliated with ISIS.
It is not uncommon for such terrorist groups to take responsibility for mass brutalities occurring in Western nations.
