Spears' manager confirmed that the singer is "alive and well" shortly after the hoax. The hacker group OurMine, which is known for breaching the account of Buzzfeed and Marvel, took responsibility for the hack. Bob Dylan, whose Twitter account was also hacked, tweeted "RIP" in response to the fake news.
