One of Russia’s first responses to the news of sanctions by the U.S. came from its embassy in the United Kingdom. It tweeted a meme featuring a picture of a duck and the word "lame."

On Thursday, the Obama administration announced the measures it will be taking against Russia for its attempt to manipulate the outcome of the recent presidential election.
They include removing 35 members of Russian intelligence from the U.S. and imposing sanctions on a variety of government-related individuals and groups.
One of Russia’s first responses to the news came from its embassy in the United Kingdom.
It tweeted a meme featuring a picture of a duck and the word lame, an apparent reference to President Obama’s lame duck status.
The social media post also included the message, “President Obama expels 35 [Russian] diplomats in Cold War deja vu. As everybody, incl [American] people, will be glad to see the last of this hapless Adm.”
In a show of computer craftiness, the text was embellished with a couple of flag emojis.
Among the many responses to the tweet was, “...did someone's teenager just hack the @RussianEmbassy? what grade are you in?”
Another user simply wrote, “WHAT THE DUCK!?”
