Kansas City Royals starter Danny Duffy signed a five year contract for $65 million, according to an MLB report. The 28-year-old player will remain with the team, which initially chose him in the third round of the 2007 draft. According to various reports, Duffy will earn$5 million this season, $14 million in 2018, $15.25 million in 2019 and 2020, and $15.5 million in 2021. Given that Duffy set to receive a raise through arbitration, his 2017 salary would have been between $7.25 and $8 million.
