Rafael Nadal beats Diego Schwartzman in Monte Carlo Masters quarter-final

Rafael Nadal, the fourth seed, beat Argentina's Diego Schwartzman, who was unseeded, in their quarter-final of the Monte Carlo Masters 6-4 6-4 on Friday (April 21).

Nadal is the only single-figure seed left in the tournament after second seed Novak Djokovic went out earlier in the day to Belgium's David Goffin.

Djokovic follows top seed Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Dominic Thiem, Marin Cilic and Tomas Berdych out of the tournament in recent days, while Grigor Dimitrov and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga were eliminated in the first round.

Nadal now faces 10th seed David Goffin while Lucas Pouille of France faces the 15th seed Albert Ramos of Spain in their semi-finals.
